Why Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS® Rebranded as an Independent Agency

We absolutely knew it was the right decision. Not just for Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS® but—most importantly—for YOU. As we approached 40 years of real estate service throughout Central Maine—much of that time affiliated with Coldwell Banker—we decided last year to revert to being an independently owned and operated, family-run business.

Why did Rizzo Mattson make this decision? What 3 powerful benefits do you enjoy from it?

It’s All About the Values

When you ask yourself, “Why should I work with an independent real estate agency?” the 3 powerful answers—the 3 powerful benefits you enjoy—are all firmly grounded in down-home Maine values. As our president, Brian Rizzo, has said, “People throughout Maine are very community-oriented. Most have strong personal ethics; they want to do what’s right. From our beginning, we’ve worked each day to ‘walk the talk’ of those deep personal values.”

Based on this ethic, Brian defines the 3 key benefits you, as a client, enjoy as being loyalty, neighborhood knowledge, and support of the local community and nonprofits. Let’s take a moment to look at each.

Loyalty

When human beings are loyal to an organization and its customers, it shows they value their relationships with both. Each of our longest-serving real estate agents—including Merrie Hanson, Kevin Judkins, Geri Doyle, Jenn Day, and Jean Kirkpatrick—has been with us for more than 25 years. Some other long-term agents are Rita Gower, whose been with us for 19 years, Lisa Kalloch, whose been with us for 12 years, Kristina Stewart, and John Charbone who have been with us since 2015! This reflects the commitment to a shared passion: offering the best possible service to home buyers and sellers. In a world where robots answer your phone calls and you’re often just “treated like a number,” wouldn’t you prefer a genuine relationship with an agent who cares about you and is loyal to you?

Neighborhood Knowledge

Unless you’re a hermit, you don’t just live in a house, you live in a neighborhood. That’s why—especially for home buyers—hiring an agent with in-depth knowledge of the neighborhoods within your targeted area is so invaluable. What are the home prices there? What are the property conditions? What zoning ordinances impact the area? What are the schools like? How about restaurants … transportation … crime?  Without your agent’s detailed knowledge of specific neighborhoods, you’re flying blind.

Support of Local Community and Nonprofits

When you team up with Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS®, you align yourself not ONLY with an organization that treats you in a caring way, but also one that cares deeply about your community. Through our volunteer efforts and financial donations, Rizzo Mattson offers a caring helping hand to some of our area’s most life-transforming nonprofits. These include the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity … United Way of Kennebec Valley … Kennebec Valley Humane Society … Boys and Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley … and the Travis Mills Foundation. For Rizzo Mattson, it’s all about the values, and it’s all about putting those values to work for you and your corner of the world.
