Someone recently asked us, “What does forty years in business mean to Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS®?” To the independent family of real estate agents that proudly call themself "The Rizzo Mattson Team", it means many things—all grounded in the values of serving and caring for others.
President & Designated Broker Brian Rizzo’s father (John Rizzo) founded the company as an independent, family-owned firm known as Ross, Rizzo & Hanna Real Estate in 1983. After graduating from Babson College and spending a few years working outside of the family business, Brian joined the agency in February 2001, a decision he calls one of the best of his life. “I was so fortunate to join the company my dad had grown into one of Augusta’s most stable, trusted, and rooted-in-Maine-values businesses,” Brian says. “People in greater Augusta and throughout Maine are very community-oriented, very service-oriented. Most people here have great personal ethics; they want to do what’s right. Right from the beginning, we’ve worked each day to ‘walk the talk’ of those deep personal values.”
A Great Place to Work—and We’re Hiring!
Each of our longest-serving real estate agents—including Merrie Hanson, Kevin Judkins, Geri Doyle, Jenn Day, and Jean Kirkpatrick—has been with us for more than 25 years. We like to think that fact speaks volumes about how Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS® is as a place to work. We also believe it reflects the deep commitment of our entire team to a shared passion: offering the best-possible service to home buyers and sellers in Central Maine. As Merrie Hanson says, “I believe I speak for all of us when I say our greatest value is SERVICE. It’s the way we make a difference in a person’s life.”
Because our agents work both in-person and remotely, buyers and sellers benefit from service that reaches all corners of the state. And to offer even greater value to our customers, Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS® agents deliver specialized knowledge concerning all types of properties—residential, waterfront, commercial, and investment properties—as well as invaluable advice regarding everything from staging a home … to “best practices” targeted marketing techniques … to the best ways to stage open houses … to successful web exposure. And we also enjoy offering helpful, empowering advice about living, working, and raising a family in Maine.
If the personal character and personal service values we’ve been discussing appeal to you—and you have real estate experience and a passion to buy and sell homes—we’d love to hear from you. We invite you to reach out to us at (207) 622-9000 or via email at info@rizzomattson.com
Looking Ahead—and Giving Back
As we celebrate Rizzo Mattson REALTOR®’s 40 wonderful years of service to home buyers and sellers in Maine, we look forward to many years of additional service. But we also want to mark the occasion by giving back to our wonderful central Maine community by financially supporting some of our most make-a-difference local nonprofits.
Throughout 2023 Rizzo Mattson, REALTORS® will donate $40 per each transaction to one of the following great nonprofits. Our customers will be able to choose from any of these nonprofits—and we invite you to learn more about each, while perhaps considering a donation. As Brian Rizzo says, “We are lucky and blessed to live in a community like Maine. And we can deepen and enrich that blessing, each day, by serving those in need.”
Habitat for Humanity … the organization that helps local families build and improve “places to call home” through affordable housing.
United Way of Kennebec Valley … which partners with 49 programs in Kennebec County to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of Kennebec County communities.
Kennebec Valley Humane Society … which enriches lives by placing animals for adoption in loving homes where they can thrive on kindness and care.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley … the organization that inspires youth to reach their full potential and become active members of their community through mentoring, sports, special events, and other programs.
Travis Mills Foundation … which supports recalibrated veterans and their families by helping these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and gain well-deserved rest and relaxation.
