Looking forward to Labor Day in Central Maine? So are we! While the long weekend means that summer is officially drawing to a close, it doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop. Here are a few of the best things to see and do in the area to celebrate:
Take a Ride on a Vintage Train
Labor Day Weekend is your last chance to take in some of the best views in New England aboard the Amtrak Great Dome Car! This chic, vintage train car made her first journey in 1955. She is two-stories and her upper level has huge windows – so you won’t miss any of the gorgeous scenery outside.
Go Back in Time at the Windjammer Festival
Don’t miss the chance to see the Harbor brimming with period boats! The Windjammer Festival fleet will flood into Camden Harbor for festivities including a parade of sail, flag-raising ceremonies, live music, and even fireworks – not something you want to miss.

Live on the Edge: Go White Water Rafting
The Dead River up in The Forks has a release scheduled for Sunday, September 2nd 2018, ensuring that Labor Day Weekend will be a blast for white water rafters. It won’t be too cold for this wet adventure, so pack up the car and head north for one last bit of summertime fun.
Taste Craft Beers in Skowhegan
The Skowhegan Craft Beer Festival is Saturday, September 1st, 2018 and is going to be better than ever. It boasts “Maine-crafted libations, farm-to-table fare, and live music in the streets of Skowhegan.” Be sure to arrive thirsty!
